Costello Family Partnership, LLC. -- Mr. Ron Costello

Mr. Ron Costello grew up on the Westside of Chicago Crawford and Jackson Blvd. He lost his father at an early age and had no other siblings. He and his mother were very close and in the evening when she returned from work he would walk up to the bus stop to meet her.

Ron delayed attending college so that he could go to work and save money to purchase a building for his widowed mother. He wanted her to have an additional income so that when he went off to college he would know that she would have enough income to take care of her needs. He worked for two years in the construction industry and saved all that he could and in 1961 he bought his first building.

When he graduated from college he went into the trucking business and other than purchasing a home in 1985 had know other contact with purchasing buildings. Then in 1987 Mr. Costello sold his business and decided to try his hand at becoming a building property owner. He purchased a 22 unit building and taught himself how take care of and manage property. He read a lot of maintenance books but his wife Shary of 40 years said it was a waste of time because he has ten thumbs.

After his second building and reading a lot Mr.Costello went on to purchase several more properties. In 1991 he purchased a 25 unit and in 1994 he purchased 19 units, in 2004 a 36 unit building, and during this time he and his wife managed to raise three children.

Mr.Costello believes that if you give your tenant’s service and a good environment in which to live you will have happy people and happy people make excellent tenants.

Mr. Costello sees a future in large apartment building ownership because of the Condo trend. There is a real need for studio, one and two bedroom apartments, most of the buildings with two and three bedrooms are being bought by condo converters. However you can leave yourself an escape plan if you purchase two and three bedroom buildings because they can be easily sold.

The Costello family is not all business, Ron is a die hard Cub Fan and loves to fish, is a collector of Art and knows the value of having good insurance.. Ron has a dream one day of purchasing the Prudential Building and renaming it the Costello Building.
